Steve Mannion found a technique to deliver affordable treatment for Clubfoot in poor countries. Through his achievements, the technique he used is being adopted even in developed countries to help reduce costs.\n

His biggest legacy is the thousands of children who walk comfortably thanks to Ponseti treatment, but would otherwise have grown up disabled.\n

\n

In 2004, Steve Mannion won a Winston Churchill Memorial Fellowship. In 2008 he was featured on the BBC documentary series Superdoctors, which described him as \"the Indiana Jones of surgery\".\n

\n

Today, Steve divides his time equally between his NHS practice in Blackpool and voluntary work abroad. He continues his work treating Clubfoot and other deformities.\n
